Petrol Price will go up on Thursday

4/6 PM Abdullah announces the Petrol price will go up 78 sen per litre to RM 2.70, diesel up RM 1 to RM 2.58 per litre, effective midnight tonight.


Government increased 97-RON petrol by 78 sen to RM 2.70 per litre from RM 1.92, diesel will be up by RM 1 to RM 2.58 with effect by midnight. 97-Ron petrol will also be increased by 78 sen to RM 2.66 from RM 1.88.

Owners of cars below of 2-litre engines will get a cash rebate of RM625 a year, while their road tax will be cut by RM 200, says PM.

4/6 Government says Petronas raising price of gas supplied to power producers to RM 14.31 per mmBtu from RM 6.40 per mmBtu.

Price raised to RM24.54 per mmBtu from RM9.40 for industries using below 2mmscf. Those using more, price raised to RM 32.56 from RM11.32.
