林笑岏 女人早成家 更專心打拚

雖然歌星田馥甄高唱“我寂寞、寂寞就好...”現實中又有多少人真正能耐寂寞呢？
速配女王LunchActually創辦人林笑岏（Violet Lim）開業6年，已經造就1萬5000個第一次約會。
外表和藹可親、笑容可掬、說話更具感染力的她認為，都市男女不是喜歡提倡單身萬歲，只是沒有一個平台讓他們有機會找到命中註定的那一位。
小時林笑岏認為粉紅色就是甜美，如今有女兒可讓她重溫甜美的感覺。
不管是午餐約會（Lunch Dating）、快速約會（speed dating）還是各種形形色色的聯誼所，都可在各國迅速走紅，林笑岏說，相信那是因為部分的人弄錯了一個觀念。
“很多人喜歡說，自己要趁年輕力壯時為工作打拼，將來就可提早退休享福，結果這也就等于錯過了自己最青春、花樣年華（約20歲至30歲之間）尋找終生幸福的全盛時期。”
她強調，除非日后沒有想結婚的打算，否則其實是應該趁早成家，后才立業！
“若有注意到，不少成功女性或男性，他們多半是在自己年輕時已成家，如今孩子漸長大后，自己就可將全副精神放在工作上；爾后在事業上軌道后，坐享家庭美滿、工作順境的好時光。”
但無可否認，隨著時代轉變，現在的女人已不再像以前一樣單純溫馴，反而是多了些獨立與剛強。
林笑岏向《中國報》坦言：“現在的女人經濟獨立，有本事又能幹，要找一個比她們更精明的男人談何容易。”
“再說若是條件這么好的男人，他們有的選擇遠遠比女人來得更多，根本不需要找個強勢的女人，畢竟現今人口可是男多女少。”
明星也需要平台
由此可見，交際網絡有限的現代男女，確實需要像Lunch Actually這種平台，在茫茫人海中找尋另一伴。
姑且不談泛泛之輩，就連身在花花世界（娛樂圈）的女明星官恩娜也在09年為Lunch Actually宣傳之際，結識現任醫生男友J先生（Juan-Domingo Maurellet）。
或許你相信有緣自然會相見，但如果自己不爭取機會，坐在家里或辦公室等，真愛是不會找上門來的。
辦離婚轉牽紅線
女明星官恩娜也在09年為Lunch Actually宣傳之際，結識現任醫生男友。
也許你不相信，但現在專為男女牽紅線的林笑岏，曾經也為夫婦處理過離婚案。
畢業于法律系的她，在實習期間處理過離婚案，但處理這類型的官司卻讓她感到很懊惱。
她無奈的說：“你永遠無法理解，為什么曾經相愛的一對戀人，會落到連和對方講一句話也不肯的地步；曾經有一對夫婦甚至要出動律師信通知對方去接小孩。”
“在法庭上宣告離婚的程序，原來也和結婚時一樣，只是一聲‘我願意’離婚。”
于是她決定再進一步攻讀自己有興趣的科目人際關係，而她的第一份工是在銀行任職。
“在銀行工作后才發現，錯過在大學時期交往男女朋友的單身一族，即使條件再優秀，也很難在工作期間結交男女朋友，她們都說自己嫁了給銀行。”
當時有機會了解到在國外頗流行的午餐約會概念，毅然決定帶進來亞洲試一試。
大女人宜適時收歛
“午餐約會”並不等于“包結婚”，即使個性吻合，嗜好相同，兩個人要在一起還是需要講求雙方有沒有起“化學作用”。
林笑岏解釋，加入成為Lunch Actually的會員后，只需與公司的顧問會面一次，好讓公司了解會員的性格與所需。
“我們將從會員中，找尋個性與需求相符程度高達近80%，在約一個時間地點，讓他們約會，能不能起化學作用，就是看個人造化，我們能做的只是鋪設約會平台。”
但她認為，現今社會女人日益強勢確實是個趨勢，常常在找尋男友時因要求太高而碰釘。
對林笑岏而言，成功的女人，是在外面做大女人，在里面（在家）做個小女人。
“我並不是鼓勵小鳥依人，但男人終究喜歡有女人味類型的女人，女人要適時收歛強勢。”
6年造就
1.5萬個約會
所謂的“午餐約會”與市面上流行的快速約會、聯誼會等不同之處是，午餐約會是一對一的見面，在這之前配對都已掌握清楚雙方的性格與個人喜好，再作出針對性的配對。
林笑岏說：“我們不一定要達到配對才算成功，而是希望提供一個平台給大家，踏出成功約會的第一步；但這6年以來，我們成功造就1萬5000個約會，配對成功率達85%。”
Lunch Actually于2004年在新加坡成立，基于都市男女對愛情的渴望，林笑岏很快地于2005年在吉隆坡開分行，2008年在香港也能找到該公司的足跡。
“新的一年將來臨，我們在台灣的新分行也將開張，目前正在進行裝修工作。”
今年該公司的營業額突破新元100萬（約239萬令吉），年成長率達20%，成長速度之快，令人不禁想問，現今社會要尋找另一半，真的那么難嗎？

美國福斯新聞報導，據統計，網路上的中文使用者日漸增長，預計在5年內就會成為網絡上的霸主。
中文崛起幕后最大的功臣就是中國，單在去年中國就增加了3600萬的網路用戶，目前總共有4億4000萬用戶，英文則有5億3600萬，因此對于網路中文使用者如此快速的成長速度，部分人士預估中文將取代英文成為網絡上的主要語言。
不過，也有部分人士對于此說感到不以為然，報導當中指出，單由數字做出此判斷過為武斷，即使說中文的網路使用者人數超越英文，中文也難以取代英文在全球網絡上的重要性，因為除了華語系的國家以外，幾乎沒有其他國家會使用中文，反之，英文才是各國普遍的第二語言。

（美國‧華盛頓29日綜合電）《美國之音》報導，為加深美中交流，奧巴馬政府積極推動“10萬強”計劃，預計在未來4年內招攬10萬名美國學生到中國留學。
政府方面對此目標表示樂觀，但專家說，這個數字將受到景氣復甦情況影響。報導說，中國政府同意提供1萬元獎學金給每個到中國的美國學生。
據悉，“10萬強”計劃最早是奧巴馬總統2009年11月訪問中國期間宣佈的，希拉莉國務卿今年5月在北京正式將計劃簽署為雙邊協議，目的在于加深美中在教育、科技和體育等領域的互動合作。
根據國際教育協會最新的門戶開放年度報告，美國留學生的前五大目的國為英國、意大利、西班牙、法國、中國。在2008到2009年，一共有1萬3674名美國學生到中國留學。美國政府要在4年內達成10萬名美國學生到中國留學，平均來說即每年2萬5000名，是目前的2倍。
民間企業出資
美國東亞和太平洋事務助理國務卿高級顧問麥克吉福特是“10萬強”計劃負責人。他說，這個數字是經過各方專家評估，挑戰性雖高，但絕對有可能做到。
“10萬強”計劃由美國政府發起，但資金來源主要是企業、民間機構和慈善家，而非聯邦預算。麥克吉福特說，他們過去這段時間一直為此奔走。美國政府號召民間團體響應，最近已經開始收到成效。

Malaysia wins AFF-Suzuki Cup on 4-2 aggregate; PM declares Friday a public holiday

JAKARTA: Malaysia has won the AFF-Suzuki Cup on a 4-2 aggregate. Indonesia won the second leg of the final 2-1 in Jakarta on Wednesday night while Malaysia had won the first leg 3-0 in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
The scorers for Indonesia were Mohammad Ridwan (87th minute) and Mohammad Nasuha (71st). Safee Sali had scored in the 53rd minute to put Malaysia 1-0 in the lead.
It was a significant success for Malaysia as the last time the senior national team became champions in a regional competition was at the 1989 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.

It was also the first time in the AFF Championships since 1996 that Malaysia has become champions.
To make it a grand night for Malaysia, Safee won the Golden Boot award with five goals to his name. The striker was on target twice in the first leg.
Later Wednesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak declared Friday, Dec 31, a public holiday in recognition of our team's AFF-Suzuki Cup triumph.
Malaysia started with the same line-up that was fielded in the first leg, except for midfielder Mohd Amirulhadi Zainal and right-back Mahali Jasuli, who were suspended. The duo were replaced by Mohd Ashaari Shamsuddin and Mohd Sabree Abu respectively.

The Indonesians were without their inspirational flanker Okto Maniani, who was also out on suspension while striker Yongky Ari Bowo was out with an injury. Their replacements were Arif Suyono and Irfan Bachdim respectively.
As expected, Indonesia came charging from the starting whistle but the Malaysian defence led by Mohd Muslim Ahmad and Mohd Fadhli Shas did well to keep a tight leash on Indonesian dangermen Christian Gonzales and Irfan Bachdim.
But a lapse of concentration inside the box resulted in Indonesia winning a penalty in the 15th minute, when Mohd Sabree handled the ball.

However, much to the disappointment of the Indonesian fans, skipper Firman Utina’s tame kick was saved by Malaysian goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.
The Indonesians, who were desperate for an early goal, kept on pressing for the opening goal but Khairul Fahmi proved to be a stumbling block, denying at least five attempts at goal before the half-time break.
Malaysia took the lead against the run of play in the 53rd minute, when Ashaari sent a long through ball for Safee to chase, and the Selangor hitman scored a clinical goal.

Then with the clock ticking away, Muhammad Ridwan scored from a goal-mouth melee in the 87th minute but this was not enough to deny Malaysia the AFF-Suzuki Cup.

Man quits job, makes living suing e-mail spammers
SAN FRANCISCO: Daniel Balsam hates spam. Most everybody does, of course. But he has acted on his hate as few have, going far beyond simply hitting the delete button. He sues them.
Eight years ago, Balsam was working as a marketer when he received one too many e-mail pitches to enlarge his breasts. Enraged, he launched a Web site called Danhatesspam.com, quit a career in marketing to go to law school and is making a decent living suing companies who flood his e-mail inboxes with offers of cheap drugs, free sex and unbelievable vacations.
"I feel like I'm doing a little bit of good cleaning up the Internet," Balsam said.
From San Francisco Superior Court small claims court to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, Balsam, based in San Francisco, has filed many lawsuits, including dozens before he graduated law school in 2008, against e-mail marketers he says violate anti-spamming laws.
His many victories are mere rain drops in the ocean considering that Cisco Systems Inc. estimates that there are 200 billion spam messages circulating a day, accounting for 90 percent of all e-mail.
Still, Balsam settles enough lawsuits and collects enough from judgments to make a living. He has racked up well in excess of $1 million in court judgments and lawsuit settlements with companies accused of sending illegal spam.

"He really seems to be trying to twist things for a buck," said Bennet Kelley, a defense lawyer who has become Balsam's arch nemesis over the years in the rough-and-tumble litigation niche that has sprung up around spam.
Kelley created a website with a similar name, Danhatespam.com, that was critical of Balsam's tactics. Kelley let it expire.
"There is nothing wrong per se with being an anti-spam crusader," said Kelley, who has sued Balsam twice for allegedly violating confidentiality terms in settlement agreements.
"But Dan abuses the processes by using small claims court.
"A lot of people will settle with him to avoid the hassle," Kelley said.
Balsam started small in 2002 in small claims court. By 2008, some of his cases were appearing before the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal and he was graduating from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.
"What started just as kicks turned into a hobby, which turned into a career," Balsam said.
"It's what triggered me to go to law school."
Balsam mostly sues companies he accuses of violating California's anti-spam law.
Among other restrictions, the law prohibits companies from sending spam with headers that misleads the recipient into believing the e-mail is noncommercial or comes with offers of "free" products that aren't true.
The law also requires a way for Internet consumers to "opt out" of receiving any more spam from a sender.
Balsam said he has more than 40 small claims victories and several more in higher courts, mostly alleging the receipt of misleading advertising.
In November, he won a US$4,000 judgment against Various Inc., an "adult-oriented" social media company that controls AdultFriendFinder.com.
A judge sided with Balsam, who sued after he received four identical e-mails sent to four different accounts with the identical subject line "Hello my name is Rebecca, I love you."
It's the fourth time he's beat Various in court.
The company is appealing the latest ruling and a hearing is scheduled for Jan. 5 in San Francisco Superior Court.
Balsam certainly isn't the average Internet consumer.
When San Mateo Superior Court Judge Marie Weiner in March ordered Trancos Inc. to pay Balsam $7,000 for sending spam that recipients couldn't stop, she noted that he has more than 100 e-mail addresses.
Balsam has filed lawsuits and got settlements and judgments from companies small and large.
He has sued the Stockton Asparagus Festival and embroiled himself in contentious litigation with Tagged.com, America's third largest social networking site.
Balsam noted in his lawsuit that Time magazine dubbed it "the world's most annoying Web site."
Tagged.com shot back with a lawsuit of its own, accusing Balsam of threatening to violate terms of an earlier settlement by telling the company he was planning to post terms of the agreement on his website.
Balsam is fighting the lawsuit and a lawyer for Tagged.com didn't return a phone call seeking comment.
Balsam has also been sued by Valueclick Inc. for allegedly breaching settlement agreements by exposing confidential terms, which he denies.
"Balsam, who in his anti-spam zeal frequently views matters in absolutes such that anyone who disagrees with him must be villainous," lawyers for Valueclick Inc. stated in a 2007 lawsuit accusing Balsam of disclosing terms of a settlement.
The lawsuit was later dismissed in San Francisco Superior Court and Balsam declined to discuss the case other than to say it was "resolved."
He said, generally speaking, those who sue him are "retaliating" for lawsuits he filed against them.

SAN FRANCISCO: Daniel Balsam hates spam. Most everybody does, of course. But he has acted on his hate as few have, going far beyond simply hitting the delete button. He sues them.
Eight years ago, Balsam was working as a marketer when he received one too many e-mail pitches to enlarge his breasts. Enraged, he launched a Web site called Danhatesspam.com, quit a career in marketing to go to law school and is making a decent living suing companies who flood his e-mail inboxes with offers of cheap drugs, free sex and unbelievable vacations.
"I feel like I'm doing a little bit of good cleaning up the Internet," Balsam said.

一名国行资深官员向《太阳报》透露，金融市场严正看待哈瓦拉系统，因为国内有许多持有执照的货币兑换商透过这套系统，与外国伙伴进行非法汇款勾当。
他说，虽然没有官方数据，但估计透过哈瓦拉系统进出我国的非法汇款数额每年超过10亿令吉。
他说，哈瓦拉系统正在迅速发展，因此必须采取严厉行动遏制这种非法活动继续扩展。
他说，尽管国行曾援引货币兑换法令第30条文吊销41家货币兑换商执照，但仍不足以解决非法汇款问题。

过去数周，数名涉嫌洗黑钱者被控，其中单一最大非法汇款交易高达2000万令吉。
一通电话即汇巨款 哈瓦拉洗钱不留痕
目前国内有875名合法货币兑换商。
据知，国行正考虑采取严厉措施打击非法汇款活动，包括制定新指南，以及加强监督和侦查非法汇款行踪。
哈瓦拉系统是传统银行系统的地下汇款管道，运作模式建立在货币兑换商之间的互相信任，货币兑换商接获一笔款项后，只需通过电话知会另一个国家的货币兑换商，便可把有关款项汇出国外。
这套系统的特点是速度快，收费便宜，而且没有任何纪录。

令人啼笑皆非的是，公積金局也被不法分子泡制的假死亡證書騙倒，輕易讓騙徒得逞，領取事主辛苦半輩子儲存到的公積金，令事主欲哭無淚。
女事主熟食小販沙拉斯瓦蒂（54歲）今日在女兒黛薇尤卡瑪拉（27歲）陪同下，在梳邦再也區州議員楊巧雙服務中心召開記者會，揭發遭人使用假死亡證書冒領其5萬6815令吉23仙的公積金。
“我的人還活生生在此，也沒有因為老人病死亡，這分死亡證書分明是假的！”
沙拉斯瓦蒂除是遭一位錫克裔男子（51歲）使用假死亡證書，冒領其公積金戶頭內的錢丬
她說，由于明年就退休，她今年早前到梳邦區的公積金局查詢公積金戶頭，竟被告知其戶口已沒余款。

她說，她較后前往八打靈再也公積金局總部查詢時，也獲得相同的答案，聲稱其公積金已被人全數提出。
她指出，她根據指示，12月15日前往拉惹拉勿路的公積金局查詢，才被告知其戶口內的5萬6815令吉23仙，已全數被一位錫克族男子在2009年4月15日提出。
她重申，她並不認識該錫克族男子，對方既不是她的親戚，也不知對方是誰。
她說，公積金局官員聲稱，該男子前往領取公積金時出示所有文件，包括她的死亡證書，證明她已在2008年5月9日在位于文良港的住家，因老人病逝世，有關死亡證書是在2009年3月2日發出。
“我覺得整件事相當荒唐，我還活生生的在這裡，也沒有因老人病逝世，如今卻有人使用一份假的死亡證書，從我的公積金戶頭提走所有公積金。”
沙拉斯瓦蒂說，公積金官員曾要求給予14天時間進行調查，從12月15日迄今，該局官員卻未曾聯絡過她，也沒告知調查進展如何。
“我已于12月15日在金馬律警局報案，希望警方調查此事，找出使用假死亡證書的人。”

KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Bhd has filed civil suits against its former chief executive officer Datuk Seri Ahmad Zubir Murshid and four executives seeking damages and reliefs totaling at least RM340mil over three loss-making energy projects.
The four Sime Darby executives are Datuk Mohamad Shukri Baharom, (former executive vice-president of the group's energy & utilities division), Abdul Rahim Ismail (former chief financial officer of the group's energy & utilities division), Abdul Kadir Alias (former head of the oil & gas business unit of the energy & utilities division) and Mohd Zaki bin Othman (former senior general manager of Sime Darby Engneering Sdn Bhd).
According to an announcement to the Malaysian Stock Exchange, the suits filed in the High Court were related to their involvement in the Qatar Petroleum Project, the Maersk Oil Qatar Project (MOQ) nd the construction of marine vessels known as the Marine project.
Among the reliefs sought is an order that each defendant make restitution of RM80.51mil, wrongly paid to consultants in the QP Project.
Sime Darby also wants each of the defendants to make restitution of US$$30.8mil (RM95.9mil) being consultancy fees wrongly paid in the MOQ Project
Sime Darby also seeks restitution of US$48mil (RM149.5mil) from Zubir and Shukri, being the losses from the failure to deliver three marine vessels.
Earlier this month, it was announced that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had found several “elements of fraud” in Sime Darby and had shared its findings with police and the Companies Commission for them to initiate action.

Money-changing firm charged with transferring RM17mil abroad

GEORGE TOWN: A money-changing company and two of its directors claimed trial in a Sessions Court to allegedly transferring funds involving RM17mil abroad for a third party and failing to keep records of the transactions.
The company, R. Kalander Sdn Bhd, and its directors, Kalander Mydin R. K. Abdul Jabbar, 46, and Mohamad Imtiaz Rajah Mohamed, 33, were each charged with five counts of allegedly remitting funds of between RM3mil and RM4mil between July 23, 2008 and Aug 27 last year.
The company and the directors were also charged with five counts each of failing to keep records of transactions above RM20,000.
The offences were allegedly committed at the company’s premises at 74, Lebuh Pantai over the same period.
The charge of illegally remitting funds abroad for third parties under Section 30(1)(a) of the Money Changing Act 1998, carries a maximum fine of RM100,000.
The offence of failing to keep records of transactions above RM20,000 under Section 13 of Anti-Money Laundering Act 2001 and Anti Terrorism Financing Act 2001, carries a maximum fine of RM250,000 upon conviction.
Sessions judge Roslan Hamid set bail of RM250,000 with one surety for each of the two directors, and ordered them to surrender their passports to the court.
He fixed Jan 25 to mention the case.
Kalandar Mydin and Mohamad Rajah were not represented.
Bank Negara’s Muhd Shukri Ahmad Mansor and Muhamad Riduan Baba together with Deputy Public Prosecutor Pang Chuin Keat appeared for the prosecution.

Two brokers get 5 years’ jail, RM1mil fine each for money laundering
KUALA LUMPUR: Two unlicensed land brokers were each sentenced to five years' jail and fined RM1mil by the Sessions Court here Thursday for money laundering activities involving over RM4mil.
Judge Datuk Jagjit Singh made the decision after ruling that the defence for both accused failed to raise a reasonable doubt against the prosecution's case that the accused received the proceeds from the illegal activities.
The first accused, Gan Kiat Bend, 52, faced four charges of money laundering involving a total of RM2.4mil.
He was alleged to have committed the offence at Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad, No 2, Jalan Ampang, here between Nov 19, 2003 and Jan 9, 2004.
The second accused, Ismail Husin, 59, was charged with 12 counts of money laundering involving RM2.85mil. He was alleged to have committed the offence at the same place and time.
According to the facts of the case, Gan and a number of people were involved in the sale and purchase of land and falsifying of land ownership, with the proceeds paid to him and Ismail.
Jagjit sentenced Gan to five years' jail and fined him RM1 mil, or one year's jail on the first charge, two years on the second and fourth charge, and six months on the third, if he fails to pay the fine.
Ismail was sentenced to one year's jail on the first and 11th charge, six months on the second, third, 5th, 6th and 7th, two years on the 4th, 18 months on the 8th, five years on the 9th and 10th plus RM500,000 fine on each of these two charges or six months' jail for failure to pay the fines, and three months on the 12th charge.
Jagjit ordered the jail terms, sentenced under Section 4(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering Act 2001, to run concurrently from Thursday.
However, the judge allowed a stay of execution pending their appeals to the High Court.
Jagjit also ordered Gan to pay RM2.4mil and Ismail, RM2.6 mil, as penalty or levy for the laundered money involved, under Section 283 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Failing to pay this penalty within a year will land them with another jail term.
In passing sentence, the judge said he took into consideration public interest as the offence was serious because it involved falsifying of land ownership, the amount was big and the money was not returned to the victims.

大馬機場公司在文告中說，該公司在本月20日邀請首相拿督斯里納吉為檳州國際機場擴建計劃動土禮時，巴西爾在致詞時誤讀林冠英為拿督斯里及把對方稱“英冠”，並以“YB”（尊貴的）稱呼林冠英。

Selangor bans 1M’sia logo on billboard ads

KLANG: Selangor has banned advertisements on billboards that feature the 1Malaysia logo.
The 1Malaysia logo is a political logo, said state Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Ronnie Liu, adding that this contravenes local by-laws.
“You don’t see any billboard in Selangor carrying the PKR, PAS or DAP logo,” he told The Star, adding that the prohibition was not a new development.
“Local government by-laws in Selangor clearly state that political symbols cannot be used on billboard advertisements,” said Liu.
He said the 1Malaysia advertisements were a political message of the Barisan Nasional.
“It is clear that Barisan is pushing hard for the 1Malaysia concept and to send out its message to the people,” he said, adding that it was nothing but a political agenda and not allowed in the state.
He said it was only at certain times, such as a general election, that such advertisements would be allowed.
“Not on normal days,” he said.
“There are no DAP, PAS or PKR advertisements on the streets. It should be the same for Barisan,” added Liu.
He said the state government sent out circulars to all local and district councils in Selangor recently to reiterate the prohibition because certain quarters had wanted to include the 1Malaysia logo in their billboard advertisements.
“There was enthusiasm to add the logo in advertisements by certain quarters.
“So we had to remind the councils to be firm in prohibiting it,” he said.
Asked if Selangor was the only opposition state to ban 1Malaysia billboard advertisements, Liu said he was unsure of it.
Meanwhile, workers from the Kuala Langat district council tore down an advertisement bearing the 1Malaysia logo from a convenience store, sparking protest from about 50 people who included Umno and MIC members.
Store owner K. Thiagarajan, 26, said he and his two partners were shocked that they were not allowed to place a 1Malaysia poster in front of their shop.
“I obtained permission from the district council in September to put up the poster and was taken aback when I was summoned last Thursday to remove the advertisement,” he told reporters before submitting a complaint to council president Abdul Razak Jaafar.
“It is unfair to ask us to remove the poster, especially after we were given permission to put it up,” added Thiagarajan, who was accompanied by his lawyer.

PETALING JAYA: The high-decked bus involved in the Cameron Highlands tragedy was modified to double its seating capacity.
The bus had 19 seats but its capacity was increased to 40, according to a source close to a team set up in the aftermath of the crash to determine what had caused it.
The team comprises several agencies including Miros, Puspakom, police and the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
This is what has been established by the team to date – the upper deck had been modified and had about 30 seats while the lower deck, which was to have only a lounge, had several more seats.
It is understood that the team checked the wreckage on Tuesday night and noticed the modifications.
“We still have to determine the exact number of extra seats added in the upper and lower decks,” the source said.
The source said the changes were a violation of the permit issued for the vehicle.
The permit issued by the JPJ states that the vehicle should only have 19 seats.
“If the bus operator wants to modify the structure or put additional seats in the bus, it should submit a new structure plan of the bus to the JPJ for approval,” the source said.
The source said checks showed that the bus was inspected regularly by Puspakom, since it was registered in 2007.
When Puspakom inspects a commercial vehicle, the first thing checked is the vehicle’s chassis number.
The source said Puspakom would also check the vehicle’s undercarriage including its brake system, axles and flooring.
The source said the badly damaged front axle of the ill-fated bus was very likely due to instability brought about by passenger overloading.
The source noted that generally high-decked buses were stable on flat and straight roads.

文具用品耗費最多
《中國報》以每個孩子做為計算單位，以最節省的方式，計算一般家庭中的孩子，在新學年的入學開銷。
新學年的開始，少不了添加學校服飾，包括校服、校鞋、運動裝和襪子等；這方面的價格，介于75令吉至270令吉之間。
補習費至少120令吉
在這個競爭強烈的社會，許多父母都選擇送子女們上補習班及學習額外的才藝，如果僅以一個補習課程及一種才藝計算，也須花費父母至少120令吉，有者甚至高達600令吉。
學校費用方面，小學生的父母須支付60至150令吉的學雜費，獨中生需支付350至500令吉；小學生的課本及簿子等開銷介至100至300令吉之間，獨中生則介于300至500令吉。
學校用品包括水壺及文具等，也是讓家長頭疼的問題，一套最普通的文具費用至少30令吉，水壺價格則介于5至50令吉。
現今的華裔家庭，大多都是雙薪家庭，無暇接送孩子上下學，子女都需由校車代為接送，目前校車費介于50至100令吉，視地區而定。

IPOH: The Finance Ministry will amend any financial regulation found to be outdated or which hinders the effective implementation of the country’s transformation initiatives.
Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said some of the regulations on the books had been introduced a long time ago and had been suitable for those times.
“But with the changing of times, some may no longer be relevant now.
“Therefore, we are studying all regulations currently available and amend those deemed irrelevant to adapt to the situational needs of the changing world,” he told reporters after handing over a RM34,000 cheque to Perak RTM for the purchase of camera equipment Saturday.
Ahmad Husni was commenting on a call made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for government agencies to be bold enough to review decisions and conditions that could hamper the country’s transformation agenda.
On another matter, Ahmad Husni said the Government would engage the World Bank to carry out a study on the management of the country’s public expenditure.
This, he said, was part of efforts to ensure that the Outcome Based Budgeting (OBB) system could be implemented in all ministries within the next three years.
He said the World Bank had been requested to complete the study before the tabling of the country’s next budget.
”We will take into account the outcome of the study in our preparation for the 2012 Budget,” he said, adding that five ministries namely the Finance, Human Resource, Public Works, Education and Transport Ministries had been identified as those to be part of the OBB pilot project in 2012.
Ahmad Husni said the implementation of the OBB would indirectly reduce leakages in the Budget and enable the money to be used in a more efficient way.
The OBB is an integrated system that uses mission, goals and objectives to explain why money is being spent to achieve a specific outcome and enables policymakers to determine which activities were cost-effective, to achieve national priorities.

A burglar in Washington, US, decided to rub some salt into his victims’ wounds by posting a picture of himself with their stuff on their Facebook page.
Marc Fisher, a journalist at the Washington Post, reported that sometime between the hours of 10 am and 12.45 pm. last Friday, a burglar entered Fisher’s house through the basement door and helped himself to pretty much everything of value that Fisher’s son owned.
He took a brand new winter coat, savings bonds, cash, a laptop and an iPod - but he wasn’t finished.
After getting away he took the extra step of posting a photograph on the Facebook page belonging to Fisher’s son so that it could be seen by all 400 or so of his friends.
But it wasn’t only the family’s belongings that he was after.

DC police Officer Kyle Roe, explained that the burglar in question had made their jobs much easier:
"I’ve seen a lot, but this is the most stupid criminal I’ve ever seen."
However, it seems that Roe’s confidence in he and his fellow officers’ policing abilities was a tad misplaced.
They haven't caught the guy yet even with the self-supplied mugshot, possible fingerprint evidence and the IP address that he used to access Facebook.

Assange free from prison, back to leaking secrets
LONDON (AP): WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was released on bail Thursday - confined to a supporter's 600-acre estate but free to get back to work spilling US government secrets on his website as he fights Sweden's attempt to extradite him on allegations of rape and molestation.
The silver-haired Australian, who surrendered to British police Dec. 7, will have to observe a curfew, wear an electronic tag and report to police in person every day.
But there are no restrictions on his Internet use, even as US authorities consider charges related to thousands of leaked diplomatic cables and other secret documents WikiLeaks has released. The site has released just 1,621 of the more than 250,000 State Department documents it claims to possess, many of them containing critical or embarrassing US assessments of foreign nations and their leaders.
Dressed in a dark gray suit, Assange emerged from London's neo-Gothic High Court building late Thursday following a tense scramble to gather the money and signatures needed to free him. Speaking under a light snowfall amid a barrage of flash bulbs, Assange - who's been out of the public eye for more than a month - told supporters he will continue bringing government secrets to light.
"It's great to smell the f resh air of London again," he said to cheers from outside the court. "I hope to continue my work."
Assange ignored shouted questions from the assembled media.
Later, BBC footage captured the 39-year-old riding in a white armored four-by-four outside the Frontline Club, a venue for journalists owned by his friend and supporter Vaughan Smith. The broadcaster reported that Assange jumped upstairs for a celebratory cocktail at the bar, then went back outside to engage in a brief verbal joust with journalists over the merits of one of the leaked cables.
A few hours later, Assange arrived at Ellingham Hall, Smith's 10-bedroom mansion about 120 miles (195 kilometers) northeast of central London. Assange told journalists there that his time in prison had steeled him, giving him time to reflect on his personal philosophy and "enough anger about the situation to last me 100 years."
Assange was granted conditional bail Tuesday, but prosecutors appealed, arguing that he might abscond. High Court Justice Duncan Ouseley rejected the appeal Thursday, saying Assange "would diminish himself in the eyes of many of his supporters" if he fled.
"I don't accept that Mr. Assange has an incentive not to attend (court)," Ouseley said. "He clearly does have some desire to clear his name."
WikiLeaks spokesman Kristinn Hrafnsson had said Assange might have to spend one more night behind bars anyway, because of difficulties producing the 200,000 pounds ($316,000) bail pledged by several wealthy supporters, including filmmaker Michael Moore. But lawyers managed to collect the money quickly.
The restrictions Ouseley imposed on Assange amount to "virtual house arrest," Hrafnsson said. But he added that Assange can still use Smith's estate as a base for coordinating the publication of the leaked cables.
"There is a good Internet connection there," he noted.
The subject of whether Assange should have Internet access was never raised in court.
WikiLeaks continued publishing documents even while Assange was in prison - including a new batch that hit the Web two hours ahead of his release.
"We have seen in the week I have been away that my team is robust," Assange told the BBC outside the Frontline Club. "It does show the resilience of the organization, that it can withstand decapitation attacks."
The publication of the cables has angered US government officials, embarrassed allies and nettled rivals. The US State Department says that international partners have curtailed their dealings with Washington as a result of the cable leaks, and have gone on the offense in a bid to limit the diplomatic fallout.
Assange insists that publishing the documents was essential to expose government wrongdoing. In particular, he has referred repeatedly to one cable that asked diplomats to gather information on United Nations staff such as their passwords, frequent flier numbers and even biometric information.
State Department officials say the cable originated from the US intelligence community and deny Assange's contention that it ordered diplomats to spy. On Thursday, the US ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva continued America's damage-control efforts over the document.
"I just want to assure everybody we're not collecting data on UN officials," Betty E. King told reporters in Geneva.
US officials are investigating WikiLeaks and considering charges against Assange, a case that if pursued could end up pitting the government's efforts to protect sensitive information against press and speech freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment. The government suspects WikiLeaks received the documents from an Army private, Bradley Manning, who is in the brig on charges of leaking other classified documents to the organization.
Australia's prime minister said Thursday that police determined that WikiLeaks did not break any laws in the country. The government had ordered the Australian Federal Police to investigate whether the website had broken local laws in publishing sensitive U.S. diplomatic documents leaked to it because Assange is Australian.
Assange was arrested not because of WikiLeaks, but because Swedish officials are seeking him for questioning on allegations stemming from separate encounters with a pair of women in Sweden over the summer. The women have accused Assange of rape, molestation and unlawful coercion. Assange denies the allegations, which his lawyers say stem from a dispute over "consensual but unprotected sex."
After his release, Assange said he will "continue to protest my innocence in this matter and to reveal, as we get it, which we have not yet, the evidence from these allegations."
Although Swedish officials insist the extradition effort has nothing to do with the WikiLeaks controversy, Assange's supporters say the timing of the allegations suggest that the case has been tainted by politics.
In Washington, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley stressed that the US has no involvement in Sweden's case. He said of Assange's release, "Perhaps that will put the conspiracy theories to bed once and for all."
The Swedish moves could complicate any potential U.S. effort to bring Assange to trial for revealing classified information. A U.S. extradition request would have to compete with the Swedish one, and the legal wrangling could drag on for months or years.
Swedish prosecutor Marianne Ny said the bail decision would not change the ongoing investigation in Sweden, and the extradition case would be handled by British authorities. Assange's next hearing is set for Jan. 11.

A VIDEOCLIP showing two children believed to be related to each other having sex has has created a stir, reported Harian Metro.
The boy is believed to be about 11 or 12 while the girl is about 13 to 14 years old.
The video clip was taken by a third person in a hotel room in Butterworth, Penang and is being spread via mobile phones.
A person who obtained the clip from a friend said: “I can only shake my head in disgust. How will their parents react when they find out?” he asked.
He said the clip was a sign of moral decay and hoped the authorities will take action.

The incident happened at 11pm while the victim was waiting at a Komuter train station in Petaling Jaya.
The man approached her and claimed that she had to go to the police station for further investigation over a friend’s criminal case.
According to the police, the victim followed the suspect in his car.
She was then was brought to a guesthouse near Sungai Besi, where she was subsequently raped by the man.
To add insult to the injury, the victim was also robbed of her money before being dropped off at the same Komuter station from which she was picked up from.
She immediately lodged a report at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters.

維基泄密案終於延燒至馬新！維基泄密爆出新加坡數名外交官出言不遜，對大馬的評價十分不堪，包括指大馬缺乏能幹的領導人、向外人透露前副首相安華確曾幹下肛交罪行。維基泄密爆料後，引起我方的強烈反彈，公正黨更要求對此作出解釋；而獅城當局也不敢怠慢，楊榮文外長趕緊出面滅火。他說任何有關新國外交部官員的談話都不應該被斷章取義，撇清關係的意味十分濃厚。此次維基泄密涉及各國一
項相同的問題，那就是政府檔案資料的保密與公開，究竟應該遵循怎樣的原則與規範為之？我們無意針對新加坡官員批評我國的內容表示意見，但必須指出現代民主國家，對於政府如何公開檔案應當設定一套完整的法律加以規定，才能符合法治的要求。
維基泄密之所以造成全球人仰馬翻，主要的原因在於許多國家仍視公開檔案以及施政資料為禁忌，因此外交上的作為與言語長期來都是黑箱範疇，外界幾乎一無所知。維基泄密後各國政府學習的第一堂課：政府必須與民眾分享其賴以施政的資訊，也必須讓民眾瞭解其做成決策的程序與依據；如果沒有正當的理由，政府不能拒絕公開其檔案資料。楊榮文外長在澄清其屬下批評大馬的言論時，反應一如美國、英國等，不僅沒有檢討本國官員的口不擇言，而將責任推給維基泄密，說它只選擇性的爆料，給予外界斷章取義的機會。他們似乎忘記了，政府之所以具有公開施政資訊的義務，在於民主社會的每個成員，均有“知”的權利。
在觀念上，相對於政府的資訊，知的權利是一種消極的權利，也是一種積極的權利；一方面人民有不受阻礙而接近政府資料的權利，這是憲法保障言論自由的附屬作用；一方面人民應有向政府要求取得政府既有資訊的權利，以能達到監督政府，參與政治的目的，這是參政權與受益權的另一種形態。
但是政府公開檔案及施政資料也有例外，例如一、有關國防或外交等國家安全的檔案、資訊；二、有關貿易、商務、財政或金融大面的秘密或管理資料；三、涉及個人隱私的醫療或類似檔案等。此次若不是新加坡外交“高級”官員對美國當局發外交機密電報，事件可能還不至這麼快抖出來。新加坡官員對大馬說三道四，主要是向美方匯報我國的狀況，意想不到經維基泄密爆料，才出現眼前尷尬處境。

維基泄密案終於延燒至馬新！維基泄密爆出新加坡數名外交官出言不遜，對大馬的評價十分不堪，包括指大馬缺乏能幹的領導人、向外人透露前副首相安華確曾幹下肛交罪行。維基泄密爆料後，引起我方的強烈反彈，公正黨更要求對此作出解釋；而獅城當局也不敢怠慢，楊榮文外長趕緊出面滅火。他說任何有關新國外交部官員的談話都不應該被斷章取義，撇清關係的意味十分濃厚。此次維基泄密涉及各國一
項相同的問題，那就是政府檔案資料的保密與公開，究竟應該遵循怎樣的原則與規範為之？我們無意針對新加坡官員批評我國的內容表示意見，但必須指出現代民主國家，對於政府如何公開檔案應當設定一套完整的法律加以規定，才能符合法治的要求。
維基泄密之所以造成全球人仰馬翻，主要的原因在於許多國家仍視公開檔案以及施政資料為禁忌，因此外交上的作為與言語長期來都是黑箱範疇，外界幾乎一無所知。維基泄密後各國政府學習的第一堂課：政府必須與民眾分享其賴以施政的資訊，也必須讓民眾瞭解其做成決策的程序與依據；如果沒有正當的理由，政府不能拒絕公開其檔案資料。楊榮文外長在澄清其屬下批評大馬的言論時，反應一如美國、英國等，不僅沒有檢討本國官員的口不擇言，而將責任推給維基泄密，說它只選擇性的爆料，給予外界斷章取義的機會。他們似乎忘記了，政府之所以具有公開施政資訊的義務，在於民主社會的每個成員，均有“知”的權利。
在觀念上，相對於政府的資訊，知的權利是一種消極的權利，也是一種積極的權利；一方面人民有不受阻礙而接近政府資料的權利，這是憲法保障言論自由的附屬作用；一方面人民應有向政府要求取得政府既有資訊的權利，以能達到監督政府，參與政治的目的，這是參政權與受益權的另一種形態。
但是政府公開檔案及施政資料也有例外，例如一、有關國防或外交等國家安全的檔案、資訊；二、有關貿易、商務、財政或金融大面的秘密或管理資料；三、涉及個人隱私的醫療或類似檔案等。此次若不是新加坡外交“高級”官員對美國當局發外交機密電報，事件可能還不至這麼快抖出來。新加坡官員對大馬說三道四，主要是向美方匯報我國的狀況，意想不到經維基泄密爆料，才出現眼前尷尬處境。

Syariah judge gets 19 years’ jail

IPOH: Perak Syariah Court judge Hassan Basri Markum was sentenced to a total of 19 years’ jail and fined RM210,000 after he was found guilty of seven corruption charges by the Sessions Court here.
He is the first Syariah judge to be sentenced for corruption.
However, as Sessions judge Tan Hooi Leng ruled yesterday that some of the sentences are to run concurrently, Hassan Basri, 56, will only need to serve 10 years in jail.
In passing judgment, Tan said the defence had failed to cast reasonable doubt on the charges against Hassan Basri.

”The court cannot accept the money was meant to pay off a loan,” she said.
Tan, however, allowed the defence’s application for a stay of execution pending an appeal and set RM5,000 (total RM35,000) bail for each charge.
As Tan was reading out her judgment, Hassan Basri’s wife Maznah Idris was seen sobbing in the public gallery.
Hassan Basri, who was charged under the Anti-Corruption Act 1997, was accused of:
> Soliciting a bribe of RM3,000 from Mohamad Imran Abdullah to release bail money to Yoong Hor Kit over several criminal cases at Restoran Wawa in Tambun at 8.15pm on Aug 15, 2007;
> Receiving the bribe in a car at D.R. Seenivasagam Park at 3.25pm on Sept 6 (over the case involving Yoong);
> Soliciting a bribe of RM1,100 to help Mohamad Asri A. Bakar marry Nor Farihan Hassan without going through proper procedures at the same restaurant in Tambun at 8.30pm on Aug 15;
> Agreeing to receive the bribe in a car at the Hillcity Hotel at 6pm on Aug 17 (in the case involving Asri and his girlfriend);
> Agreeing to receive another bribe of RM1,100 from Mohamad Imran to produce a marriage certificate allowing another couple, Mohd Jefri Afandi Ahmad and Nur Liza Musa to marry without going through proper procedures in a car at D.R. Seenivasagam Park at 3.20pm on Sept 6;
> Soliciting RM20,000 from Yoong Hor Kit, through Mohd Sharif Abdul Ghani, to release bail money and reduce sentences in several criminal cases at the Perak Shooting Association building at Jalan Raja Dr Nazrin Shah here at 8.30pm on Aug 7, 2006; and
> Receiving RM10,000 from Yoong to release bail money and reduce the sentences on several cases at the same place on Aug 9, 2006, at 11pm.
In mitigation, defence counsel T. Shan appealed for a lower sentence as the accused had been jobless since he was charged.
”He is now working in a restaurant,” he said.
In pressing for a heavier sentence, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) head of prosecution unit Datuk Abdul Razak Musa said the court must send a clear signal that corruption would not be condoned.

常有批評說，80后（即指從1980年至1990年以前出生者）是草莓族，抗壓力弱、愛逃避現實、工作不長久，像足草莓一碰即壞。
許多發展中國家的80后，因為週遭環境物資水平提升，從小甚少捱苦，驕生慣養的也比上一代多。
今年，是80后首次出現30歲群體，由于成長在經濟條件相對優渥及貸款輕易的時代，成人后的80后債務纏身，“房奴”、“車奴”、“卡奴”、“孩奴”、節奴”等字眼，都圍繞著80后轉。
兒時“小皇帝”，如今貶為“奴”隸，80后如何才能走出“奴”境？
貸款纏身，80后不得不努力工作還債。
國內房屋市場迅速發展，房價一路飆升，最近還勞煩國家銀行介入，避免房價遭遇過分炒作。
進入成家年齡的80后，唯有靠貸款買房打造夢想屋（dream house），成為“房奴”在所難免，會在生命黃金期的二、三十年，把40%至50%或更高的收入，以作償還貸款。
當上“車奴”的年輕人，很多被認為有享樂主義傾向，打著提高生活質量的旗號，貸款買車，方便代步之余，亦讓自己感覺很“拉風”。
通脹率揚高，愈來愈多年輕人沒有足夠能力付全款，皆申請分期貸款，有者供款期更長達9年，並頻密換車，願意長期做“車奴”。
信用卡普及化，金融機構為爭取客戶，紛紛以豐富禮物、回贈積分、免年費等優惠推銷信用卡。
收入較低的上班族和學生，因為超能力消費逐漸成為“卡奴”，打工收入都用來償還卡債。
80后逐漸進入生育期，又成了“孩奴”。剛剛步入而立之年的80后，一旦擁有孩子，一生都在為子女忙碌，有年輕人因害怕成為“孩奴”，選擇晚些才要孩子。
除了傳統節日，80后受到西方文化影響，大小節日都慶祝一番，面對節日的額外開支，年輕白領受苦不迭，成為新一代“節奴”。
這批“小皇帝”逐漸發現生活艱辛，都希望能在國家發展的大潮中，抓住機遇，加倍努力，早日擺脫被“奴”的境況，享受高品質生活。
貸款容易 變負翁
80后負債壓力大，是當今金融市場成熟發展的現象。
經濟學家告訴《中國報》，我國金融體系朝向成熟發展，人們都有工資保障，加上20來歲的年輕人深受西方文化影響，引入西式財務管理，利用市場上多元化的金融產品，降低日后的生活風險。
他指出，按西式的財務管理，先保障好自己，接著是儲存3至6個月的應急資金，余下的資金才充作消費。
“市場都看見這年輕族群是未來經濟發展和消費主力，銀行特別放寬貸款的申請要求和評估，目的就是要搶在其他同行之前，爭取這班‘新客戶’。”
他說，很多超過30歲的消費者，身上已背負房貸，若銀行屆時才提供優惠貸款配套，一切已太慢了。
經濟學家指出，年輕人的收入揚升空間大，可以承擔較大風險，這種種因素造成80后背起更多債務。

翻過2010年日曆的第一頁，80后出現30歲群體。
中國80后的普遍現狀是，三十難立，四十迷惑，五十聽天由命。
網上流傳這樣的說法：60后最幸福，有房有車有老婆；70后也不錯，房、車、老婆都快有了；80后最慘，沒房沒車，老婆還跟60后的跑了。
當夢想照進現實，很多人被迫清醒，對都市年輕人而言，“三十而立”這道人生命題已近在眼前，毋庸置疑，這個年齡段的人已“長大”，但是否“成人”，卻有揮之不去的困惑。
據中國的一項調查數據顯示，近60%的30歲（80后）薪酬不高，恐懼家庭責任。
三十而立=有房有車、三十而立=成家立業、三十而立=學有所成，若以此衡量， 中國80后幾乎可被定義為“三十難立”的一代。
上海社科院社會發展研究院副院長楊雄教授說，“三十難立”反映中國人生存的焦慮。
“三十難立”不是80后的錯，而是社會之痛；並非一代人的事，而需要社會共同努力。
負債累累 養不起父母
人口老齡化是社會進步的表現，也是經濟發展的結果，惟80后“負債累累”，要如何妥善贍養父母，成了社會的關注。
按國際慣例，60歲以上人口佔總人口10%以上，或65歲以上人口比率超過7%，即為老齡社會。
過去5年，大馬65歲以上的人口比率皆控制在5%，雖距離步入老年社會仍遠，但是已呈成長趨勢，有關單位應多加注意，未雨綢繆。
根據國家統計局最新數據，2006年，大馬總人口達2683萬人，超過65歲的人口佔4.3%或115萬人，15歲至64歲的人口比率為66.9%或1795萬人。
今年，總人口增至2825萬人，65歲以上人口亦提高到4.7%或133萬人，15歲至64歲人口達68.1%或1924萬人。
也許會說，老年人口增加的同時，年輕人口也隨之提高，贍養父母理應不成問題。
市場都忽略一點，隨著社會發展的推進，年輕人的物質享受愈重，承擔的債務明顯較大。
“前輩都是把錢存進銀行，這一輩的年輕人大多以投資為主，自然要背負更多債務。”
向身邊的80后作簡單調查后發現，今年滿30歲的80后，儘管已踏入社會工作多年，由于消費壓力大，未有太多積蓄，根本無法獨立贍養父母。
訪問10名80后，8個確定現階段未能贍養父母。
今年27歲的80后卓業植說：“父親仍是家庭中的財政支柱，即使以后退休，也無法獨立擔起養家的重負，只會每月付給家用。”
已為人母的50后說，對80后無法贍養表示十分理解，沒指望孩子贍養自己，已安排好退休計劃。
生活 工作壓力大
80后如今嚮往穩定的工作。
80后自稱無法贍養父母，主因來自兩方面；
★生活壓力大。
80后陸續進入結婚生子的階段，許多80后家庭每月除了繳付房貸，小孩開銷佔大部分，每月財政吃緊，對于父母贍養顯得力不從心。
★工作壓力。
就業市場競爭激烈，能找一份自己喜歡又穩定的工作已很難，高薪資且穩定的工作更是困難加倍，別說贍養父母，要做到經濟獨立也是大問題。
債滾大 連國行也難為
80后舉債龐大，國家銀行難做事。
分析員說，這屬于個人財務管理，國行也不可能阻止市場發展，干預金融產品的多樣化。
他指出，如果國行或相關單位，限制年輕人舉債，將影響國家整體經濟發展，金融市場的發展步伐會倒退。
“需要取捨和取得平衡，這是社會問題，監管單位難入手解決，國家或從教育教導年輕人塑造正面的理財觀念，而不是本末倒置，放慢市場成長。”
限制了 創業機會
債務使很多80后透不過氣，同時限制了年輕人的創業機會。
分析家告訴說，為了應付日益增大的債務，80后少有是“草莓族”了，工作時遇見麻煩即隨意辭職不做。
他指出，80后背負債務后，它可以是持續工作的動力，也會是個拖累。
“動力是不敢輕易打破飯碗，切斷收入來源，而是努力工作，避免無力付還貸款，最后遭銀行拖車封屋。”
“同時，過早承擔債務的年輕人，也因為債務拖累，限制創業機會，沒了自由，只求工作穩定，足夠支付房貸、車貸、卡債、保險則滿足。”
若情況持續，我國將缺乏有創意的年輕企業家，也會是阻礙國家發展的絆腳石。

80后自稱無法贍養父母，主因來自兩方面；
★生活壓力大。
80后陸續進入結婚生子的階段，許多80后家庭每月除了繳付房貸，小孩開銷佔大部分，每月財政吃緊，對于父母贍養顯得力不從心。
★工作壓力。
就業市場競爭激烈，能找一份自己喜歡又穩定的工作已很難，高薪資且穩定的工作更是困難加倍，別說贍養父母，要做到經濟獨立也是大問題。
債滾大 連國行也難為
80后舉債龐大，國家銀行難做事。
分析員說，這屬于個人財務管理，國行也不可能阻止市場發展，干預金融產品的多樣化。
他指出，如果國行或相關單位，限制年輕人舉債，將影響國家整體經濟發展，金融市場的發展步伐會倒退。
“需要取捨和取得平衡，這是社會問題，監管單位難入手解決，國家或從教育教導年輕人塑造正面的理財觀念，而不是本末倒置，放慢市場成長。”
限制了 創業機會
債務使很多80后透不過氣，同時限制了年輕人的創業機會。
分析家告訴說，為了應付日益增大的債務，80后少有是“草莓族”了，工作時遇見麻煩即隨意辭職不做。
他指出，80后背負債務后，它可以是持續工作的動力，也會是個拖累。
“動力是不敢輕易打破飯碗，切斷收入來源，而是努力工作，避免無力付還貸款，最后遭銀行拖車封屋。”
“同時，過早承擔債務的年輕人，也因為債務拖累，限制創業機會，沒了自由，只求工作穩定，足夠支付房貸、車貸、卡債、保險則滿足。”
若情況持續，我國將缺乏有創意的年輕企業家，也會是阻礙國家發展的絆腳石。

李劍秋每天至少花一小時學習電腦，上网不言倦。

李劍秋（75歲）住在阿達斯邦谷路，由于不懂得駕駛，為了學電腦，3個月前，他一週6天風雨無阻地步行半小時，到其友人的診療所，在友人為他準備的房里學電腦，每天學習至少一小時。
他受詢時說，之前每天翻開報紙，凡看到一些有關网絡資訊的新聞時，都不明白當中意思。
當他向醫生友人提起時，朋友鼓勵他學電腦，激發他的決心，便以4000令吉買一台新電腦。
興趣漸濃
由于他家中無人，朋友提供地方，讓他把電腦放在診療所內學習，有不明白之處可即時詢問。
他起初因完全不懂用電腦而缺乏信心，經過一番摸索、朋友教導及與電腦“相處”了一些日子后，興趣漸濃。
目前，他已懂得到數個特定网站閱謮國內外新聞，至于輸入法，須先學會漢語拼音及簡體字。
“學會上网后，才發現网絡世界就像深海般廣闊，只要善用，無限的知識待人發掘。”
他說，學習電腦必須花很長時間摸索及朋友指點，即使看相關書籍也很難完全理解。只要愿意學習及接觸，培養興趣后，老年懂得上网，是很好的消遣活動，也能輕易找資料。

（紐約9日訊）兩家中國網絡公司週三在美國首發股（IPO）市場大獲全勝，在線視頻網站優酷網（Youku.com）力壓群雄，創出自05年百度（Baidu.com）首日上市以來的最佳表現。
然而，網上書店當當網（E-Commerce China Dangdang）首日上市的漲幅，也寫下今年第三高。
優酷網和當當網皆指出，該網上業務在各自領域佔據最大市場份額，全球經濟下滑之際，兩家公司均實現收入增長。
中國擁有全球最多的互聯網用戶，但互聯網普及率較低，發展互聯網用戶的空間仍然大。

優酷網股票在紐約證券交易所掛牌首日上漲逾倍，收盤報33.44美元（約105令吉），較12.80美元（約40令吉）發售價激漲161%，開盤首日市值高達35億美元（約110億令吉）。
優酷網發售1580萬股美國存託股票（ADS），發行價高于市場預期的每股9至11美元（約28至35令吉）。
數據追蹤商Dealogic說，優酷網是繼百度之后，美國上市首日漲幅最大的新股。2005年8月，百度首日上市大漲354%。

A MAN who was dying of lung cancer had a last wish – to go to the casino. It was fulfilled and he won RM460 before breathing his last.
Chen Ma De had relayed the wish to his daughter while undergoing treatment at the hospital, Sin Chew Daily and China Press reported.
His daughter said they arranged for an ambulance with life support system to send the ailing man to the casino.
“My mother and a nurse accompanied him. The casino management was also very caring and arranged for security guards and doctors to be on standby.
“They cleared the entire place and allowed my father to play the jackpot machine. He spent about an hour there and won S$200 (RM460) before returning to the hospital at noon on Thursday.
“At about 9pm the same day, we received a call from the hospital that he was in critical condition.
“By the time we arrived, he had passed away,” said the daughter.
> A factory worker in Singapore tried to end her life so that her family could use her life insurance money to resolve their financial problems, Sin Chew Daily reported. The 24-year-old woman jumped off the ninth floor of her family’s apartment but survived with multiple injuries.
The woman, known only as Wu, told reporters that her father became addicted to gambling some 10 years ago and he sold off their three-bedroom apartment to pay his debts.

KUALA LUMPUR: Thousands of protesters turned up in front of the National Mosque to support the handing over of a memorandum on the Selangor state water issue to Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at Istana Negara.
All roads leading to the palace and the mosque were guarded and blocked by police causing a massive traffic jam in various parts of the city.
Before the protest, Parti Sosialis Malaysia chairman Dr Nasir Hashim, party secretary-general S. Arutchelvam and Shah Alam Councillor A. Sivarajan were arrested on their way to the mosque but were immediately released.

Most of the demonstrators, who were wearing red T-shirts, held flowers as a sign of peace but were chanting loudly, creating chaos at the vicinity of the mosque.
The protesters who gathered from noon waited for the arrival of Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim who gave a speech at the mosque before proceeding to the palace and handing over the memorandum bearing 150,000 signatures to a palace official at 2.10pm.
Among the contents of the memorandum was to request the King to order the rights over water resources, now handled by Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas), to be returned to the Selangor state government and for the King to review the objectives of the Water Services Industry Act 2006.
Water has become a controversial issue in the Pakatan Rakyat-led state and currently there is a stand-off between the state government and the Barisan Nasional-led Federal Government over the earlier proposed Pahang-Selangor raw water transfer project.

SHAH ALAM: Former Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo has been charged with accepting two land lots for RM3.5mil when the said lots were bought by Ditamas Sdn Bhd director Shamsuddin Haryoni for RM6.5mil.
Dr Khir is alleged to have accepted the two lots from Shamsuddin in May 29, 2007. The lots were bought by Shamsuddin in 2004.
Shamsuddin is charged with abetting Dr Khir in the deal.

Both pleaded not guilty before Sessions judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh.
According to the charge sheet, Dr Khir, 45, is alleged to have obtained for himself and his wife Datin Seri Zahrah Kechik the two plots of land and a house at No 8 & 10, Jalan Suasa 7/1 L, Shah Alam, from Ditamas through Ditamas director Shamsuddin at the price of RM3.5mil when in fact the lots were bought by Ditamas on Dec 23, 2004 at the price of RM6.5mil.
He is charged with committing the offence at the Selangor Mentri Besar's official residence on May 29, 2007.
The charge under Section 165 of the Penal Code carries a two-year jail term, fine or both.
Dr Khir, who is Sungai Panjang assemblyman and Selangor opposition leader, arrived at the Sessions Court here at about 11.25am accompanied by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officers.
Bail has been set at RM750,000 each. The prosecution has applied for the case to be transferred to the High Court.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail commended the MACC for a thorough investigation into the case and the prosecution would be calling about 16 witnesses.
"The full force of law would be used to protect witnesses and ensure no interference in the case," Gani told a press conference later.
Critics claimed that the mansion which was built on the land costs about RM24mil but Khir has maintained that it was worth RM3.5mil.

Singapore hospitals on alert for killer bug
SINGAPORE: Singapore is preparing for a killer bug that could head this way, as hospitals step up checks on the more susceptible patients especially those on antibiotics and the elderly, China's Xinhua news agency quoted local media as reporting on Thursday.
The Strait Times reported that the immediate symptom is diarrhoea. All patients suffering from diarrhoea and who are on antibiotics are undergoing checks.
Doctors in public hospitals also want to be certain that such patients are not infected with the killer strain of the Clostridium difficile bacterium called the ribotype 027.

Singapore hospitals on alert for killer bug
SINGAPORE: Singapore is preparing for a killer bug that could head this way, as hospitals step up checks on the more susceptible patients especially those on antibiotics and the elderly, China's Xinhua news agency quoted local media as reporting on Thursday.
The Strait Times reported that the immediate symptom is diarrhoea. All patients suffering from diarrhoea and who are on antibiotics are undergoing checks.
Doctors in public hospitals also want to be certain that such patients are not infected with the killer strain of the Clostridium difficile bacterium called the ribotype 027.

No bus, so Khairy walks to Parliament House
KUALA LUMPUR: Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin walked to Parliament House when he was unable to get a bus after getting off the light rail transit (LRT) at Masjid Jamek.
He hopped on the LRT after a dialogue session with the Youth and Sports Ministry’s Youth Development Transformation Laboratory in Bukit Jalil near lunch hour.
“Going to see how close we can get to Parliament without car or taxi,” he posted on Twitter yesterday.
Relating his experience further, he said, when he arrived at the Masjid Jamek station, he wanted to see if there was any bus that could take him to Parliament House.
However, no one could tell him the location of the nearest bus stop.
He then started to walk and reached Pasar Seni but failed to find a bus stop.
He then decided to walk all the way to Parliament House.
