Barisan wins Batang Ai,
Pakatan takes two Bukits
It is status quo in the tri-elections on Tuesday with Barisan retaining the Batang Ai state seat in Sarawak and Pakatan Rakyat again winning both the Bukit Selambau state seat in Kedah and the Bukit Gantang parliamentary seat in Perak.
The official results of the three by-elections are as follows:
Batang Ai: Malcom Mussem Lamoh (BN) 3,907 votes; Jawah Gerang (PKR) 2,053; Majority - 1,854 votes.
Bukit Gantang: Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin (PAS) 21,860 votes; Ismail Saffian (BN) 19,071; Kamarul Ramizu Idris (Independent) 62; Majority - 2,789 votes.
Bukit Selambau: S. Manikumar (PKR) 12,632 votes; S. Ganesan (BN) 10,229; Majority - 2,403 votes.(Sources:The Star)
